F.E.T.C.H. Student of The Month Contest

Purpose:
To identify, recognize, encourage and award high achieving current or former F.E.T.C.H. Program participants attending public schools within the state of Florida

Need:
To provide motivation to all current or former F.E.T.C.H. Program participants so that they may strive for excellence.

Who Is Eligible:
All current or former F.E.T.C.H. Program participants attending 1st through 12th grades or at the college level.

Eligible Schools:
All public schools, including colleges, within the South Miami Dade target area Served by F.E.T.C.H. Program

Plan:
Each month a F.E.T.C.H. Participant (Past or Current) with at least a “B” average will be selected as The F.E.T.C.H. Student of The Month.

Action: 
Members of the F.E.T.C.H. Program’s Marketing Team will meet with youth centers, churches, schools and community parks within the targeted areas and present the program to the superintendents, principals, counselors, coordinators and teachers in order to provide the appropriate personnel with information, applications and deadlines for each month’s contest.

Interested personnel will visit the F.E.T.C.H. Program’s website to complete an application nominating a student, sponsoring a student, making donations or sending us comments. Once a winner is chosen, the F.E.T.C.H.  Program will contact the student, their sponsor and school representatives. Awards will be delivered to the schools, students and sponsors as agreed in the program contract (viewable online).

Awards/Rewards:
  1. Student recognition plaques,
  2. Sponsor donated gift certificates ($100.00),
  3. One month free advertising services on the F.E.T.C.H. Program website for student’s sponsor, student’s school and student profile showcase, complete with photo, video and biography of current Student Of The Month. 
  4. A $1000 awrad will be paid to the F.E.T.C.H. Student of the Year contest winner.

Time Frame:
Start date of September 1st (deliver applications to schools). The first award shall be given as a September Student of the Month.

Student Biography:
Each application must include a student biography that is not more than 10,000 characters in length. The biography should be typed into the designated textbox on the online application form, hosted on the F.E.T.C.H. Program’s website.

Deadline Date: The fourth Monday of each month.

Application Submissions:
Applications that were not selected previously may be resubmitted each month. Students may not be awarded more than one time per year.

Criteria for Choosing F.E.T.C.H. Student of the Month :
  • Improvement in or good grades (not necessarily “A” honor roll, non-honor roll students should receive first consideration)
  • Good attendance or improvement in attendance
  • Character
  • Behavior
  • Attitude toward others/learning
  • Good citizenship or improvement in citizenship
  • Classroom participation
  • Demonstrates responsibility
  • Respectful to peers and teachers

F.E.T.C.H. Student of The Month Contest Rules:

  1. Each month a F.E.T.C.H. Participant (Past or Current) with at least a “B” average will be selected as The F.E.T.C.H. Student of The Month.
  2. Nominations will be received online via our web portal: http://fetchfl.org/StudentOfTheMonthContest. Each nomination MUST include a Student Sponsor and a school’s endorsement (if participant is attending school) plus a $100 entry fee.
  3. Selection of the monthly winners will be done by members of the F.E.T.C.H. Board of Directors or contest committee members
  4. Only one entry will be accepted per person.
  5. Each month a winner will be selected and promoted on F.E.T.C.H. website: https://fetchprogram.org/. This winner will also be automatically entered in the F.E.T.C.H. Student of the year contest.
  6. Members of the Board of Directors of F.E.T.C.H. Program, their relatives, family members, or employees, Executive Board members of its affiliates are not eligible to win.
  7. The school listed as the school the winner attends or attended will receive a scholarship donation from F.E.T.C.H. Program donated to that school’s academic development fund in the student’s name valued at $500, and an interview with Andrew Barrett (Executive Director of F.E.T.C.H.).
  8. Andrew Barrett will accompany F.E.T.C.H. official to the student’s school to make a presentation of scholarship check.
  9. Contest will be opened to all students current or former program participant in good standing with the F.E.T.C.H. Program.
  10. The F.E.T.C.H. Program reserves the right to change the rules and/prizes at any time, if deemed necessary.
  11. The F.E.T.C.H. Program reserves the right to postpone, reschedule and modify the actual dates, if deemed necessary.
